This event will be organized for the delegates of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues, that will run from 5-12-03 - 5/23/03. The location for the event will be in a art gallery in Chelsea, New York. Contemporary Indigenous Poetry will be read representing many nations and places. The theme of this years forum is children issues. We would like to donate proceeds to a youth organization. It would be great to have a modest set of music by Ulali, for all of these very speacial people who are representing and working for bettering the conditions of living all over the world.

The Community Festival aka Comfest is Columbus' most popular music and arts festival and is known as the Party with a Purpose. It is always the last full weekend in June, Friday through Sunday. We emphasize support for diversity, harmony and social justice. Check out our statement of principals at comfest.com. Musically, we like to showcase local music from all genres. We also have a Live Arts stage that features culturally diverse acts. Occaisionally we do reach out for a national act and Ulali would be just the kind of act we like to present to our community.

The Native American students at East Carolina University have been trying for many years to receive more notoriety. Many in our area are not aware that Native Americans make up a big part of Eastern North Carolina or that we even exist. For the first time we are putting on a Native American performance not just to demonstrate our cultural dances as we do at our annual powwows, but to enlighten others on what it is like to walk in two worlds. We feel like your involvement will not only increase attendance but will help us in achieving the notoriety we wish to receive.

I'm afraid that we don't have much funding, but maybe if we work together, we also could submit a grant for these performances in 2004-2005?

Hi there, I e-mailed you a few weeks ago, and I realized that perhaps I made a mistake in filling out this form. In March 2005 our office will be organizing an Aborginal Women's Day. The theme: "Leadership and Empowerment of Aborginal Women in Today's Society". Lee Maracle and Sandra Laronde have expressed a strong interest as Guest Speakers so far. Hence, we are still seeking some powerful entertainment to keep the momentum of our theme. The day is scheduled for March 14th, 2005 HOWEVER, there may be some flexibility there depending on your schedule. Anything is possible. The sooner we know, the sooner we can carve some plans into stone. Thank you for your consideration and I hope to hear from you.

I am the 'Indian Education' specialist for a middle school 6th-7th, and junior high 8th-9th in Shelton,WA. I saw Ulali perform about 5 years ago at the Coquille Culture Conference at the Mill Casino in Coos Bay, Oregon. I have a vast array of tribes represented by my students and my job is to make sure they stay in school and do well, Respect and learn their culture, and also to mediate teacher, student and parent conflicts. I also teach Culture Class and run the after school Native Culture Club. I want to encourage these kids to do well and I would love for you to come perform for us. I am sure we could work something out in terms of a fundraiser of sorts. We also have two local tribes that we could seek to sponser your trip as a lot of their kids are in my program. As for me, my father's family is Cherokee. Let me know if Ulali will be in the Pacific Northwest anytime soon. Wado, Kimberly Gregg
